About 12-18months...Contacted Will Nash for a friend who wanted to purchase
a copy of STU .... At that stage Will said he still had a few copies available ...

There are still a few books un-bound left for sale. I'm going to have to push the price up to reflect increases in costs for binding & to reflect the appreciation in RW prints so shortly to be £1200 (which even then is a 20% discount to Ebay).

For IORR supporters - we will continue to change the current quoted rate and include a Estate stamped original photograph.I do this as I have repeatedly tried to explain that we are a fine art publisher - not anti fan.

I loved Stu and have always wanted to own this book. It's worth every penny, and that's something I feel about very few "rock books." Stu would have been completely amazed that one exists.

Very few second hand for sale, less than Exile.
One of my grails.

one could be forgiven for the thought that Ian Stewart, such a key part of the Stones (founding member), would have a substantial estate, maybe not 'millions in the bank' but surely enough to cover his son's education? I guess its more complicated. Doesn't diminish the fact that he was an integral part of the Rolling Stones.

The book was not to raise funds for Stu’s son. The Rolling Stones collectively paid the school and university fees from 1985 onwards.

I only recently found out that Stu lived in Sutton area here in London, and also went to Tiffin Grammar School in my home town of Kingston.

I always thought he was born and bred in Scotland.
Tiffin School was one of the Grammar schools in my area where the bright kids who passed 11 Plus exam went to.

10 minute walk from where I lived and used to compete in the school sports against them.
Stu probably attended there from about 1949 or 1950 onwards as he was born in 1938.

His Kindergarten was Glaisdale School and yes he was born in Scotland - Kirklatch Farm, Pittenweem.

You could be right there, Rockman.
"Somebody" did lend the book (surely one of those "remaining" 50) to me many years ago. I was supposed to write about it in a fanclub magazine, but that didn't work out in the end. It was an amazingly big book (3D heavy leather cover) and by the time I finished reading it (also great pictures!) I didn't really know where to start (despite quite some abstracts I had made).
As far as I remember it was not meant as a fund raising thing, but more as a gesture to his family. Many top of the bill musicians contributed to the book.

950 copies & a contributors set of 125 (Roman Numeral)…..it was my idea of a tribute book for family & friends….(the contributors received gratis Roman numeral copies)…..effectively sold out although I held back on a small number of copies which are available but as mentioned previously I can’t hold the current price when we bind remaining copies. I hope that clarifies.

Awwwwww... woulda loved a Roman numeral copy .....

Either way a beautiful piece of work ...

It means that I have the books hand-bound in batches as that is the only realistic way with small binderies. Unfortunately whilst I have held the current cost for about 8 years the reality is that the binding costs have risen by 80% in that period. I hope that explains.

Thank you Woody! - I had a lot of fun making it. There are still copies of the book (which comes with a signed/numbered Ronnie Wood print) available (950 copy edition). As much as I appreciated the warm words from the Rolling Stones during and after publication, the most important to me was how much it meant to all Stu’s family and friends and I would say those of you who have bought the book.
