has south america been mentioned.

as getting on in age (!), and not that i have been much around,
that is the only place in the world i really would like to go,
and seeing the stones there would be the ultimate thing

I read somewhere that they would be touring South America next time around. This news was in some interview over a year ago.

yes - only the collapse of the Argentinian economy prevented them from going last time.

From what I understand, that isnt expected to be a major problem for early 2006.

On a related and sad note, that fire in a club in Buenos Aires last night which killed around 175 people was at a show by Los Callajeros, a local band whose music and fanbase have a strong affiliation with the Stones.

Not to minimize or trivialise the tragedy in any way, but I understand a lot of the people who died would have been Stones fans.

Makes ya think twice about those small old club venues. I thought of this when I was in the ROSELAND venue, a place waitin' for disaster. That place was old and run down. We were stacked like sardines, unless you were by a door, you wouldn't get out if a fire started.

nope, never been to south america, but want to do that next tour... how? i just go there
