Fresh and funny thread, guitarbastard !
I am not really fond of Indian Girl (rather prefer an Indian boy )
Ya YA is the best official live album !
I LOVE Beast Of Burden (I'll love to be Mick's beast of burden )
I like live versions of Tumblin' Dice ,especially the 76's ones.

I didn't like so much Jagger's solo work .
I don't like Jagger 's short hair in 1988/89

I loved Jagger on stage in 1975/ 1976 ,his crawls on the stage and the way he danced.

When Keith alone sings and plays piano performing "Nearness Of You" ,I am almost tearfull. The same with Coming Down Again .

I almost never listen to "Their Satanic Majesties R." apart from 2000 Lights Year from Home .

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

I love Indian Girl
I love "Winning Ugly" and I don't mind "Back To Zero"
I think Dirty Work is a great album (although not perfect)
I prefer "Dirty Work" to "Undercover" although I love them both
I love Ronnies terrible out of time drumming on "Sleep Tonight"
I prefer the 1969/1970/1971/1975 and 1976! tours to the 1972/1973 tours
I think "Bridge To Babylon" is one of the best stones albums ever!
There's only about 4 officially released stones tracks that I actually dislike!

--I do NOT want them to do an album of blues covers; I would not like it.
--I don't like Stripped. I think the original versions of all the songs are WAY better.
--I like Dirty Work. It was the first "new" album released when I became a fan at age 15.
--I love the "She's the Boss" album. In fact, it's the first Stones-related thing I ever bought. At the time, I didn't even know Mick Jagger was the singer for the Rolling Stones. I bought his album because I really liked "Just Another Night" and liked the video on MTV. After that, I decided to explore what other songs he did with the Rolling Stones, and I became hooked. (Boy, that's a tough confession to get off my chest!)

I like "Indian Girl" very much. But maybe not entirely for musical reasons. It´s funny. Jagger can be very funny at times, with his vocal and body manneirisms.
It´s also funny because it´s Mariachi-music derivative (or whatever it was intended in Jagger´s head) and satire, although not musically really conscious of what could it be, had it been more serious.Probably today it wouldn´t be done that way, lirically and musically.

It´s also one more of the zillions of testimonies to Jagger´s ability to emulate trends, variations, etc. to spice a Stones record. Many times positively. On others not efectively.I don´t know if they would be that great for that amount of time if it wasn´t those little idiossincrasies that Jagger puts next to Keith rock and blues diet. I mean, they certainly ARE a rock and blues band and I love what Keith does. But this duo gels just like John and Paul used to.
I mean, Keith brought reggae and country inside the Stones also, but JAgger kind of colorize the musicians only band the Stones would be without him.

Well I went a bit far on this one........

Great thread.

I don't like "Little T&A"
I don't like any of Keefs songs after "Voodoo Lounge"
I don't like the "Undercover" & "Dirty Work" album
I don't like Jaggers "She's the boss" & "Primitive cool" albums
I don't like the 1981/82 Tour
I don't like "Angie"
I don't like their (Jagger, Richards, Wood) "Live Aid" performances
I don't like "Harlem Shuffle"
I don't like "Rock and a hard place"
It seems I have a problem with the eighties ...

"Moonlight mile" is the best stones song ever
"Jumping jack flash" is the best rock song ever
For me "Voodoo Lounge" was the best stones tour I've been to
I like "Winter"
I like "Indian girl"
I like "Emotional rescue" (song & album)
I like "Luxury"
I think they should open or end a show with "We love you"

I totally agree Gibson Fender-Nanker. Same for "Sweet black angel", "Hey negrita", "Luxury" ...

Hey negrita has those vocal manneirisms. But the himself would use another words if he was to release it firs nowadays.

Luxury is is funny for the irony.

On "sweet Black Angel" he sings with accente but it´s one of these pre-80´s lyrics on which you may be write one book only on one song and still not arrive at any conclusuion. I think it´s a marvellous song qith funny accent qith a positive, ironic message.

You only focused on one aspect of Jagger´s imense talent for these things.
Try Dead Flowers or Faraway eyes for a second kind. On FW, assuming the playback
was recorded at least some days before and the band had already heard the lyric and Jagger´s voice doing it, before, it´s amazing that the band still has to hold bursting in laughter while recording the clip. Specially Bill and Charlie, if I can remember it well.

Even on Fool to cry, a beautiful song with beautiful lyric and message he still manages to sqirm his voice around the melodic line.

I think She's So Cold is an absolutely standout song.

I bought Exile and never bothered to listen to it for 5 years.

Undercover is a great album.

I think Wild Horses is boring.

- Don't ever listen to any solo stuff other than Charlie's.
- Don't like Midnight Rambler (and almost got me deaf ath the second O2)
- Listen a lot more to the latter music than the early 60's
- Hope they do drop IORR and Miss You from the setlists (prefer the studio versions of both songs)
- Love all Stones ballads (yes, all)
- Like a lot the Beatles (even though Paul is not my favorite one)
- Love everything done by Led Zeppelin (and yes, Plants voice is GREAT)
- Like U2 (yes I HATE Bono, but I like most of their music)
- And yes, if one of them will quit The Stones, I would still attend their concerts.

I don't like Miss You
I like A Bigger Bang.
I don't like a lot of songs on Voodoo (but some are truly great)
I don't like Bob Wills Is Still The King
I am generally not tired of haering the warhorses. Really
I want to see them live again rather than to open the vaults
I don't think that getting Mick Taylor back is a great idea

the feeling of danger I used to get at a Stones show
Keith playing rhythm
Ronnie's grin

Don't like:

Static setlists
Vegas era stage clothes
"Good to be here, ...."
Keith playing(?) lead lately

-I think Some Girls (the album) sucks BIG TIME

-I totally love Goats Head Soup

-I think MT is very much overrated

-Keith Richards is an average guitar player at best and mainly became that legend he is because of his image and looks. His image, til this very day, is well calculated. I don't think he took more drugs or lived a more dangerous life than any other "drugged rocker" e.g. Johnny Thunders, Pete Doherty and such.

-Steel Wheels is better than any album from 74-86

-Charlie Watts is overrated as a drummer as well. He's got that sympathy bonus and for ages fans worrying about that Charlie's going to quit the band and so they are happy when he's doing another tour/album with The Stones. In fact, he's never going to leave this band and his "I don't really care for rock & roll and I hate to tour" image is nothimg but...an image.

That's all for now, folks.

Confession:

I'm bored/tired with GIMME SHELTER & YOU CAN'T ALWAYS....

I don't like Mick's stage clothing from '75 tour.

I like Dirty Work & don't have a problem with songs like BACK TO ZERO.

It's difficult to see old video of Keith when he had the bad chompers (teeth).

Never been a fan of Bill Wyman.

I like SATANIC MAJESTIES.

Have wondered if Charlie is actually autistic.

I think Keith's bark is bigger than his bite.

Love when the Stones do their reggae-style stuff.

Dislike short 18-20 song sets.

Disliked Cook Cook Blues & Fancyman Blues (even though I love the Blues)

Hate it when Mick/Stones duet with the likes of Justin Timberlake...

Prefer At the Max on a tv screen rather than iMax screen.

Think that Keith's need to have his dressing room look like a "voodoo lounge" is weird.

Hate it when the Stones get too PC and leave out lyrics to SOme Girls & Sympathy etc...

Mick's performances (comedic & musical) on Saturday Night Live.....embarrassing. Liked the Tom Snyder interview bit ('78).

Like Indian Girl, Rock & a Hard Place and the beginning of Sweet Neo Con (before Mick starts singing). Love DRIVING TOO FAST & GUNFACE.

I like Mick's version of YOU GOT THE SILVER.
Like HAPPY much more when Mick sings along.

I think IORRers only "love" PRECIOUS LOVE because it's unreleased. Had it been released..it would be an album filler. Not a bad song..just not as
great as many say. (IMO) winking smiley

(more to come as I think of them)

IORR............but I like it!
