couldnt find a better title. but what do you like/dislike about the stones that the majority doesnt/does like? (another great explanation haha...)

i really like indian girl
i prefer love you live to yayas
i dont like beast of burdon
i think ronnie wood is underrated as a guitarplayer
i dont hate dirty work
tumblin dice never really touched me...

(besides that laps of taste, i'm a pretty normal stones-fan..;-)

I like SAL movie
Live At The Max is crap
I don´t like the ´75 tour versions of Gimme Shelter I´ve listened to...

yeah i know i'm mad. ;-) but thats the idea of this thread! i know that everybody loves it. i like it. its a cool song, i understand it intellectualy what people see/hear in this song. but it just never worked 100% for me.

but as i said: i would like to hear what other taste-secrets iorrians have to hide!

I LOVE Dirty Work.
I like that the recent albums haven't had many acoustic songs.
I consider Keith's tracks standouts on every album that they're on.
I like Back to Zero.
I don't hate Streets of Love.
I got Undercover and Beggars Banquet on the same day - I prefer Undercover

I actually don't dislike Back To Zero.

I love (also) the "vegas style" current live band.

I don't like Coming Down Again

Wondering Spirit is not a great album. She's the Boss is a great album.

MT's solo on Time Waits is very good but a bit overrated.

Jagger's 81 stage costumes were great.

The New Barbarians are slightly overrated.

Sing this song all together (see what happens) is a Mighty Masterpiece.

Exile On Main St is overrated.

Ha ha....

Dirty Work is easily their worst album but I do like it.

Back To Zero is crap but it is catchy.

Continental Drift is crap.

Rock And A Hard Place is one of their worst songs ever.

Streets Of Love is the worst thing they've ever done.

Beast Of Burden is great - I'm just sick of it.

Keith's tunes until 2005? Great. 2005? Awful.

I like Indian Girl - especially the horns.

Why does everyone hate Rock and a Hard Place? I think it's pretty good, but Lisa's vocals are wayyyyyy to prominant in the mix.

good thread!

i have to confess that don't really care for Midnight Rambler...(ducks to avoid things thrown at him)

I know it's held by many round here to be the absolute epitome of prime Stones, but it's just never moved me that much.

Yes, I remember having to duck for cover a while ago when I confessed that Sway leaves me cold...

... and I hate When The Whip Comes Down...

... and although I love most of the Mick Taylor era, I'm not sorry that the band didn't go any further down that road ...

... and I enjoy most of Dirty Work (except Back To Zero) ...

... and most of TSMR too ...

... and I'll take Goats Head Soup over Some Girls anyday ...

... and I enjoy all four of the "Vegas-era" albums ...

... but of all the different bands the Stones have been, I still love Brian's the most.

I'll take just about any Album over Some Girls except ER Undercover and DW.

Saw The Stones with Brian Jones. I love the today Stones more.

My favorite period is 1989 till now.

ABB is my second favorite after Exile.

ME.

i LOVE jagger solo work.
i think keith has always been a better guitar player than mick taylor.
i cant get into bridges to babylon.
I'd take GHS, IORR and black and blue over aftermath and early albums anyday.
i LOVE too much blood.
i ADORE miss you.
i deeply love jaggers singing and growling in 75-76 tour.
jaggers stage costumes in 78-81-82 were great.

Undercover is a masterpiece.
Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle was the best of the big business tours (1989-2007).
Main Offender is Talk is Cheap in a coma.
Satanic Majesties is better than Aftermath.
Some Girls is better than Sticky Fingers.
Some Girls is a perfect Stones album.
Emotional Rescue - the song - is superb.
Goddess In The Doorway is a great album.
Keith Richards is ridiculous.
Bridges to Babylon is a floating turd.

I don't like either the '75 or the '89/'90 tour.
Ronnie Wood is overrated.
I like half of Dirty Work.
The best version of Satisfaction is from MSG '69.
When I discovered the Stones, I liked Stealing My Heart.
Let It Bleed is the best rock album ever.
I would listen to a 2 hours version of Midnight Rambler and would pay for seeing it.
I would love being drunk with Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Bob Dylan.
Down In The Hole is a fabulous blues song.

But, God bless Mick, Undercover is a holy sh*t.

Sorry for my english ; I'm a french little boy (but I like it)

I posted this in another thread, but it should go here: I like the cover photo of Dirty Work a lot.
I like "Always Suffering".

dont care too much for winter. its good but hardly a 'lost classic', and i have no desire to ever hear it live, especially vegas style.

Great thread!

And indeed I LOVE Let's Work,
And the whole Emotional Rescue,
and....

I think visually the Stones were ridiculous in 72-76, especially Jagger. Never understood how I could love his studio work during this time so much, and find his "singing" and "dancing" so horrid on stage. I'd take him in 95-98 over 72 anyday!

I'm so sorry!

I wouldn't want to meet The Stones (accept Charlie)
I think Mick looked and sounded terrible on the '81 tour
Till the Next Time is a lost classic
Keith needs to lighten up
I prefer Bowie and Jagger as a couple than Mick and Bianca
Mick is now a better harp player than Brian was
I love Bridges to Babylon

Re: you like back to zero? or prefer iorr to exile?

Hi, everybody

I think Emotional Rescue was their first really not great album
I prefer Dandelion than We love you
It´s not every occasion that I fancy hearing the whole of Their Satanic Majesties
To my ears, "Slipping away" is the best Stones Keith ever.
I love the wole IORR, except perhaps "Luxury", which everybody praises.I tend to find it repetitive.
I think Steel, Bridges and specially Voodoo are a real return to studio form, the way it was possible at their time.
AAB is better than Dirty W or even Underover.
