Your favorite and why? Lets see Dirty Work, Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, Bridges To Babaylon and A Bigger Bang. Bigger Bang for the MEZ edging out VL. I'd rank them as follows: ABB, VL, B2B, SW, DW. The MEZ

I dunno. It changes so much. I go through phases of really liking Voodoo but then suddenly getting really bored with it. Bridges still seems very vibrant to me and no matter what anyone says I love Bang. Steel Wheels, although it is the most current Stones album for me in terms of when it all came together with being a fan and seeing them and having a new album all at the same time, is a good album but it's not that good.

Dirty Work? Such a shitty album yet I love it. But it ranks right one notch above their worst album for me - Satanic Majesties. One Hit, Harlem Shuffle, Fight, Dirty Work and Had It With You are the stellar tracks.

I forgot to mention stripped which would be the MEZ's favorite than ABB. I just love stripped, and wish they'd do something similar again. MEZ

If "Stripped" counts, then it has to be it.

If we're talking studio albums, then it would be something like...

-Voodoo Lounge
-A Bigger Bang
-Steel Wheels

Don't really fancy "Bridges", even though it seems it will stand the test of time somewhat better than expected!

As for "Dirty Work"... huh, does that one really count? winking smiley ... Is getting more and more bizarre even just to consider playing that one nowadays for me.

ABB. If you count just studio albums. Otherwise,Stripped by a mile.

Bridges to Babylon. Great and eclectic disc. And underrated in my opinion.
Next would be Voodoo Lounge
Then ABB, Dirty Work, Steel Wheels.

ABB, despite the lousy sound/production and three or four filler tracks. An underrated album which I personally rate higher than Black And Blue and IORR.

Bridges To Babylon is the best of the bunch. When it was new, it wasn't - just yet, because it's a real grower. It has some great melodies, guitar playing, and arrangements. There are too many favourites to mention them all, including all 3 of Keith's tunes, surprisingly.
The album is superior to Voodoo Lounge because the latter has more lesser songs than the former. Still, what it is that made B2B great is already present on VL, and there are many favourites on it, too. But "Jump On Top Of Me" should have been a single, not "You Got Me Rocking".

In the ranking. then there follow the new 40 Licks songs, even though "Keys To Your Love" is really cheesy. Still, all 4 of them got the qualities I like that I've already mentioned. Ronnie's solo in "Don't Stop" is one of his best melodies.

Next in the ranking is a big gap until there follows the duo of "Steel Wheels" and "A Bigger Bang" in joint 4th place. Steel Wheels just slurches along in too many places, seeming uninspired. Still, it has got some good songs and a few pearls even (Sad Sad Sad, Mixed Emos, Rock & A Hard Place being the good ones, Almost Hear You Sigh and Break the Spell the pearls).
A Bigger Bang suffers from its compressed and loud sound. Jagger is often more shouting than singing. The rockers tend to sound the same. Still, there are some good songs (Biggest Mistake, Break the Spell, Rough Justice) and some pearls (Driving Too Fast, Let Me Down Real Slow, She Saw Me Coming. We Don't Wanna Go Home, Infamy).

In last place, there is Dirty Work, mainly because it unites the bad qualities from the Undercover (the rage) and Steel Wheels (the lacklusterness)albums.

Out of the two that I consider serious efforts (well, more or less), Dirty Work ranks a notch higher in my book than B2B. Both of course being no highlights in the Stones catalogue.

Others mentioned ABB, VL, Steel Wheels and even Stripped, but in all honesty: do they count at all? IMHO, each of them could have been named "The most annoying Rolling Stones clichés" (same goes for IORR, for that). I am not quite sure, however, whether they have become prematurely senile or just give a shit, being well aware that they - unfortunately - get away with everything just because they are celebrities, so why bother?

Bridges to Babylon
A Bigger Bang
Voodoo Lounge
Steel Wheels
Dirty Work

Five studio albums in almost 26 years (and counting) is a pretty horrendous statistic by any standard.
