and on which stones-song do they sound the most beatlesque?

i'd go for: HELTER SKELTER for the beatles

and BACK STREET (or stupid) GIRL for the stones.

... I'll go along:

TELL ME for the Stones as Beatles;
GET BACK and REVOLUTION for the Beatles as Stones...

But imho, there's very little 'touch' between the two sounds. Worlds apart...

they are so unlike it is amazing, and worth some theoretical investigation
on one hand you have songs that are simple and rugged -
on the other sophisicated and nice music

'I Want You' sounds like one of the long, slow groovy jams the Stones were doing around the time of Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed.

She's A Rainbow sounds like it could have been on Sgt Pepper or Yellow Submarine.

And, er, I Wanna Be Your Man also sounds like it could have been done by both!!
