Ronnie Wood Appreciation Thread
Date: June 25, 2009 15:24

So many people have so many negative things to say about Ronnie. I think we should have a thread where everyone can be positive about Mr Wood. So here it is...

Life would be dull without Ronnie and his antics. Admit it whenever you pick up a paper and see what he's up to it always brings a smile!!

Forever grateful for Ronnie's valuable contribution in the Stones. He saved the band, remember. Diplomatic skills, a fine, fine guitarist, great artist - bought 5 of his works) a kind, funny, witty guy who's enjoying a great romance at the moment. I wish him all the best - both with his girlfriend, and for the next tour. And may he never be ripped off again!
Gonna see him in a couple of days.

Greatly appreciated in my world. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He remembers people, too. And not too shabby of an artist, as well.

I met Ronnie in London a couple of weeks ago and he is a great and very friendly person!

What would stones be without Ronnie?

Not much if you ask me, especially now since Keiths guitarplaying isn“t the best anymore...

I like Ronnie and I like him as a guitar player too. He is a Stone and a Stones fan at the same time.

Weird, cos I never liked his image within the band...

I like his playing on EC's Rainbow Concert and with Faces...also on the '75 TOTA...

Back in the day, I remember alternating the Rolling Stones Now! with the Faces Long Player and noticing that Ron Wood's playing was stylistically compatible with the early Stones.

Back in December, 1974, when the news of the MT departure was announced, the first thought I had was that Ron Wood would become a Stone. He participated in the recording of "It's Only Rock 'n Roll," he had been collaborating with (at least) three Stones on his solo record, and he played the right style. In my opinion, there was not another person on the face of the Earth who could have stepped into the Stones as well as Ron Wood did. And, after the disastrous Black and Blue, they came back with the powerful (and fun) Some Girls. With three successful singles.
