A great song on an underrated album, and I remember hearing the song with my old headset and hearing the stereo, with Mick and Keith singing in my left and right ear, whispering like they were standing right behind me..

I've always said a killer Taylor solo in the middle would have worked better than the turgid sax.

I think the sax solo fits in just beautifully. I wouldn't change a thing here. Stunning vocal performance by Keith...and Mick too

Great track

IMO, a toss up between Coming Down Again and Sleep Tonight for the newbie on he next tour - I don't see why not. We all thought we wouldn't hear Little T&A again, but he suprised us with that one - go on Keith!

One of my favorite songs on GHS. It has somewhat of grandness, I'don't know how to describe it better. I'm not a friend of sax-solos on Stones titles, but here it fits really. The harmony of Keith's guitar and Nicky Hopkins' piano is fascinating (I guess it was Nicky Hopkins).

I'm glad they didn't touch the sax. Beatiful, and suits the song brilliantly, imo.

Absolutely fantastic song. Love this one, and it would definitely be in my dream setlist for Keith on the next tour. This and Thru & Thru, although he usually does one slow and one rocker, so I might have to live with Can't Be Seen instead of Thru & Thru, as devastating as that would be, but enough with the typical songs already Keith!! Break out some of these other ones!!!

I've always liked this song, it has a dreamy quality to it, a kind of world-weary timelessness.

Stunning track! One of my fav of keith's. Has that narcotic haze throughout the song with Jagger's vocals hanging in the distance like an act of conscience. Is it Brian? Heroine? Annita? Some very vivid imagery in it, "slipped my tongue in someone else's pie..." That is an incredible line that always brings a chuckle. Would love to hear him do this live, and I think he could do a great later day version. The sax is beautiful, and I am glad Taylor was more restrained, I think if he would have let loose it would have sounded too much like Winter.

Agreed...otherwise it's an OK song...not great but not horrible...just *OK*...

A CD of mostly ballads by Keith would be cool. Jazzy stuff with acoustic, piano, wah wah electric. and sparse backing vocals.. brushed drums..

love 'Coming Down Again'.

To me CDA is the centerpiece of Goars Head Soup; captures the 'morning after' an episode of debauchery, an addiction, a failed relationship, a self deception...and if on SF drugs were still part of the RS' world which felt mosty in control, and if Exile is like a Ne Orleans funereal for the 60s, then GHS is a reflective and pastoral work signifying end of the line. (It took a couple years to find new directions)...

I think this is Keith's best vocal on record.. this is more than just a song ..it is pure emotion set to music ..you know, everything 'chickenfoot' isn't..

the pingponging Mick and Keith vocals are splendid, and the sax solo with it's dreamy feel is perfectly fitting

Goats maybe wouldnt get such a bad rap if each side didn't begin with a dessicated attenpt at a rocker - Mr D is decent Dr John hoodoo but underdeveloped compared to '73 live versions, and Silver Train pales next to Johnny Winters version. Rest of the album is terrific...

Every time this song is discussed, I am surprised to see how many people love it. On my book this is by far Keith's most insipid track on a stones release. I know that at the time Keith was not in his best shape, from this viewpoint the song is sincere. Probably its the story that doesn't interest me. Probably it is one of the very few Stones songs that have no good vibes at all. Keith's written tons of sad songs, but this is the only one that fits the definition of "depressing".

That's a tenor sax, but I agree it's a perfect match.

A very sad and beautiful song.

It should be noted that "Goat's Head Soup" is a melancholy album, if you take away "Star Star" and "Silver Train."

"Winter" is a sad one, and "Heartbreaker," while it is upbeat, is about tragic death. "Angie" is about the end of a love affair. "Hide YOur Love" and is about unrequited love.

And "100 Years Ago" is nostalgic for time past.

I actually think is one of the weakest tracks on a great album. It has "atmosphere," but it goes on and on. The atmosphere suggests a loose jam, but the track is actually overproduced. Not a fan of the soft-rock sax.

I like this song, for me it conveys such a troubled state of mind and deed, and who better to deliver it.

how ironic - it's been in my head all day, i now open IORR.org for the first time today, and this is the top thread!

A great combination of mood and sound. Its really fantastic.

Brilliant song. Just like all Keith's tracks.

Listening to All About You for the first time right now, it's uncanny how all of Keith's are in the upper relm of Stones songs, IMO.

Maybe the best Rolling Stones music ever played. This song i perfect, both composition and performing of all the band. Fantastic melancolic and sad album that ended happily with chucberrian Keith's @#$%&.

It' imposible to me think that is there any posibility to hear something like this coming from the Stones again
