Do you mean faults or vaults? In this case there is quite a difference.
Faults is what we are already getting; Vaults is what we want. LOL

In a way the vaults are the faults. Right? The scrapped songs.

Your question is more interesting than it seems : 100% of pro musicians have hearing problems (incl. classical ones, in the pit of a symphonic orchestra you can have 100+dB for 2 or 3 hours, ouch!).
It's the same persons who mix records, making a delicate tapestry of freqs some of them cannot hear any longer smoking smiley

If you add age to this... I wonder what poor Eddie Kramer can do to recent JHendrix releases. His hearing must be pretty beaten...

They have been playing Ampeg, so they must be deaf.

Musicians have a much higher risk of hearing loss ,I guess, and many of us don’t wear hearing protection.

Noise is defined as "unwanted sound". Although music is not generally thought of as an unwanted sound, in severe circumstances, prolonged exposure to loud music can result in hearing loss.

Some interesting figures here :

A friend of mine works in London as Sound technician. He knows the guy who provides the Stones with hearing protection. He told him that while most musician have severe hearing problems, he's amazed that the Stones can still hear very well. So to my sources the Stones fortunately aren't deaf.

Pete Townshend said a few years ago that the hearing loss suffered by his fellow band members was so bad that they were considering changing their name from "The Who" to "The Do What?"

By all accounts Townshends hearing has improved but Entwistle was almost deaf...

"Entwistle became deaf in his later years, his hearing impaired by years of close proximity to The Who, his own bass playing and listening to loud music on headphones. A friend says: "They always joked he'd have 'Turn it down!' on his tombstone.""

"Entwistle was almost deaf..."

On trader's den there is a "loudest band ever" thread where a guy describes an Entwistle CLUB show in the 70's/80's : the guy had brought his entire stadium gear. The sound coming from the stge was absolutely unbearable.
Maybe the coke helped the Ox make it thru the shows...
