I don't care what lives Ronnie/Keith live If I pay $100,- for a ticket I want at least decent play And promoting their latest record is alson not a strange wish.

Why shall I get back to you? I have by far most of all the bootleg studio /outtakes.

and what do 'box sets' have to do with the non-healthy lives of the two guitarists?

Hard to follow your logic boston2006

The sycophants are out defending their boyhood idols. It amazes me how people will defend...terrible guitar playing...ripping off fans through their fansite....same boring setlists...lackluster performances. etc.

I'm surprised we haven't heard..."Why are you on this board" yet.

If you don't like what you see don't go to the shows . That's a rather simple solution . I'm sure they won't miss your $100.00

Perhaps you'd rather see Britney Spears or Clay Aiken .

If someone pays $400 to see the Stones, you can bet your arse the majority of them want to hear the warhorses not Sway etc

Over 50% of any Stones crowd are now just casual observers out for a night with their equally not bothered mates

They want HITS

Class A example of the kind of post to try to redirect this thread.

The band won't miss my $100? $100?? How about $400 to $500? And you are most definitely exactly right: we would all rather see Britney Spears or Clay Aiken. Bravo, oh you hit the nail right on the head.eye rolling smiley

boston2006: I did skip the last tour

I had rather see Clapton (boring set lists but great play) Dylan, Springsteen, BCrowes, U2, AC/DC (boring set lists but still rock), Lucinda Williams, Ray Montagne these days....

So now you're telling us, they couldn't sell out stadium shows last year, and what they did sell, half the people there didn't give a shit and only wanted to hear greatest hits?

The mighty have fallen furthur then I thought. Do you think U2, Clapton, AC/DC, Springsteen or Green Day have 50% of the crowd just going to the concert for the hell of it?

I would take a Stones concert of warhorses before I would ever suffer through a
Bruce farce or that anti-rock'n'roll band U2, especially with the sermon by bongo included. They are too full of themselves.

You may not like Bruce his music for your own personal reasons MKjan but the Stones would only have 10% of the passion which Bruce shows for his fans....(the great set lists, the boxes he released)

But you prefer another HTW and Miss you?

I don't know about passion measurement ratings, but the music coming into my ears would mean a lot more to me if it was HTW or Miss You rather than what Bruce offers.
To each their own....indeed.

Oh , you're quite the fan ,

What the hell is " Jiving Miss.... " and " Walking and don't look back " ? Are you going to resurrect Peter Tosh to duet on this ?

Get the titles right and perhaps your opinions would be worthwhile .

Secondly , never in your lifetime would Stones solo recordings ever be played at Stones concerts !!

In 2001 the Stones were planning a 40th anniversary 6-CD box set out rarities (I'm sure similar to Springsteen's excellent "Tracks" box set). Unfortunately, it never came to pass. I went back and found the article I had read back then on Billboard.com. It's such a bummer that it never came to pass.

Stones Readying 40th Anniversary Box Set
December 07, 2001, 11:30 AM ET
Nigel Williamson, London
The Rolling Stones plan to celebrate the group's 40th anniversary next year with the release of a box set, featuring rarities, outtakes, and unreleased live tracks taken from different stages of the band's career.

A spokesperson says the group is not yet ready to announce plans for its 40th anniversary, but guitarist Ron Wood has revealed that the Stones are is already at work compiling the box set in an interview due to be published in January the British rock magazine Uncut. He also suggested the release would be supported by tour dates in autumn 2002.

Details remain sketchy, but according to Wood, all members of the group were recently delivered "hundreds of hours" of tapes and have been sifting through them to select potential material for the project. In the interview, Wood says he has already been comparing notes with Stones guitarist Keith Richards over what should be released from the tapes.

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the Stones' first appearance on the stage of London's Marquee Club, on July 12, 1962. However, according to Wood, the commemorative box is unlikely to be released before September. Mick Jagger told Billboard last month that "we're trying to cook something up. I don't want to talk about it too much yet, but the 40th anniversary is a good party to give."
