Any chance on Tim & friends playing marty's in the near future? They had a show scheduled for December 28th, but had to cancel at the last moment. We're anxiously waiting a return visit. Summertime in Chicago is so much better than winter!

Please say YES!!!

Little Queenie... do you know if anyone is headed down to Bluesfest this w/e. They've shortened it by a day, but there's still some great performers. Just hoping the weather cooperates!

Yeah, you nailed it! Ordning muss sein! One of my great, great great grandfathers was German. The family name's still German. The German system works.
Now BV's put the info in the first post - and I'm happy - and will try to go to some of the shows.

Here is the link for that show.... June 26th. I know some of you dont care for the Jazz style Time brings to the stage, but it's a night out and this club is new and nice! Hey you never know who might turn up at a Tim Reis gig. He always has surprise guests like Ana Maura and some unusual singers and dancers. It should be a good show!

Although Bernard was there, Darryl was NOT with Tim Reis in NYC. Neither was Tim Davies who I heard is touring in Europe, so is this correct?

2009:

July 3rd Metropole Orchestra, Den Hague
July 4th & 5th in Dublin
July 8th Paris at Sunside
July 9th in Lisbon with fado singer Ana Moura
July 11th in Austria concert in Klagenfurt
July 12th in Austria club gig
July 16th Uppsala Sweden at Kaitlin
July 17th at Nefertiti in Gothenburg Sweden
July 18th at The Jazz House in Copenhagen

Has anyone been to these gigs to say who was there and how the performance
was?

Tim Ries, Bernard Fowler, Darryl Jones, Jordi Bonell and Jukkis Uotila.

I saw him in The Hague.
Bernard sung most of the songs.
Some songs had nothing to do with the original, onlt the lyrics could tell you which song it was.
Highlights:
- Wild Horses
- Baby Break It Down
- Satisfaction

For Stones fans who are also BIG jazz fans it's a must to see and hear this.

We went to see them in Uppsala Sweden at Katalin, it was just great. We arrived early because we should have dinner before the gig so we met them all before the gig. Very nice guys so we got lots of pics and autographs.
The set they did was just beatiful, and most of all I remember Lady Jane, Wild Horses and Ruby Tuesday.
The local paper in Uppsala says: Wow I was not prepared for this, what a feeling and touch just great!
How about that!
An evening to always remember.

I saw them in Lisbon July 9th.
FANTASTIC Concert!

I had dinner with a friend in a restaurant just very nearby the theatre and suddenly there enters Darryl Jones that went to salute a couple of portuguese friends.
So I get my brand new "Stones Project II" CD signed!
Great guy he is!

The theatre was almost full.
The show started at 22:10.
Tim Ries: Sax
DJ: Bass
A great guitar player from Barcelona (who was here in for the 2007 gig as well)
A great finnish drummer (who I don´t remember the name)

And they started with a beatiful version of Wainting on a Friend:
Here DJ presented himself doing a wonderfull bass solo!! How good this guy plays!!!!

After this song Tim Ries did a presentation of each member of the band and explained that Darryl Jones "has just arrived from LA with a quick nap in NYC!" So he was thinking of how many song will Darryl be able to play before he fell asleep. :-)
Great ambiance and mood in the theatre and everybody laughing and relaxed.

Bernard Fowler appeared on the 3rd song and they did a beautiful "Baby break it down"

Then he said he loves Lisbon and he is searching for an apartment in a old and historical neighborhood called Alfama (near the Castle).
And then he presented Ana Moura and she did a 5 song set.
One of the highlights of this set and of the entire show was Brown Sugar presenting a blend of Rock´n´Roll, Blues, Jazz and Fado (great thing to hear and see the portuguese guitar solloing over the rythm section driven by DJ and the drummer, with Tim Ries doing some beatiful fillers and Ana Moura singing the lyrics both in english and in portuguese...
World Music someone said...

Wild Horses was beatiful as well proving, once again, that Bernard Fowler is a hell of a singer!!!

The show is for sure a MUST SEE.
In the end I chated a few minutes with Tim Ries and asked him if "They" are going to be back on the road again in 2010.
He smiled at me and said that the side musicians are the last to know, sometimes with 2 months only in advance. He said last time he was speaking to Bernard Fowler on the phone and he knew because he was told "so you´re coming again for the next tour!"...

It can be true or it can be a polite way of saying I know but I can´t tell you anything...

Best Regards!!
