Gazza,

You bastard.

Thanks a whole hell of a lot for posting that list with Celine Dion's sales on it. There are some truths that I just don't care to know and now I don't know whether to cry or throw up. Or both. It'd be funny if it weren't so damn sad. What a downer.

Yeap, that list is interesting indeed. Celine Dion is also one of my "favourites." But there are more things hard to believe. Anyway, note, that Gazza included Bon Jovi there...smiling smiley

I'd sure like to hear this No surrender acoustic version. If it's only half as good as the one on Live 75-85 it was worth the ticket price alone. Does anybody know when it was last played without full band?

Not 100% sure, but I believe it wasn't performed in the acoustic arrangement since the "Born In The U.S.A." tour (i. e. 1985).

Am I to surmise that The Singing Stick Insect's music isn't on permanent rotation at Camper Towers?

Well he did it at one of the Obama rally's during the camapaign. Not sure about during a regular tour though.

More recently Keith's playing has become much more inconsistent (at least in my book) probably due to his physical limitations (arthritis in his fingers, mental lapses etc.). causing Mick to be less confident in his (Keith's) ability to handle newer/ different/ possibly more challenging songs. I actually think this is coming more into play these days than one might think. Other than that I think sad to say it simply is far easier for them to play/ rehearse less songs regardless of the silly excuses they use about the war horses being what their crowd wants. I almost laugh now when they put out a new album and tour behind it (as infrequently as that is anymore) and they say in their press interviews how so many of the "new" songs are tailor made to be played "live" and they can't wait to do so...! LOL!

Actually, a singing stick insect would sound pretty good in comparison.

Which reminds me of the headless male praying mantis who late one night arrives home to his wife, and she says to him: "you're sleeping around again aren't you?"

And yeah, Bon Jon's numbers didn't make feel any better about the future of the planet either.

Hey Gazza,
Have you ever seen Bruce in NJ??

Nah. Would have liked to this autumn but it wasn't possible. Seen him in both Milan and Paris last summer but otherwise every show I've seen has been in the British Isles.

Maybe next time.

Yeah I was trying to get tix to go see him there again myself. Damn they sell out fast!!

the 5 Giants Stadium shows are sold out?

I'm surprised. I wouldnt get too pessimistic, though. There'll be ticket drops between now and October, and especially around 24 hours before each show.

Havent seen Bruce in NJ but I HAVE seen the Stones there.

I should clarify that! LOL The dates I'd like to go are - the weekend ones. It'll be hard to go see him during the week what with work and coaching soccer (football).

IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER: MORE TOUR DATES ADDED
Three new tour dates were announced today, including two after the Nov. 18 Nashville show:

Fresh from playing Born to Run in Chicago, the band will play the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA, on September 21. Tickets on sale August 22.
Bruce and the band return to Baltimore, MD on November 20 after a long absence (since 1973?). Tickets for the 1st Mariner Arena show will go on sale September 25.
The current final date for 2009 is November 22 in Buffalo, NY in the HSBC Arena. Tickets on sale September 12.
The press release announcing the dates was issued with the headline "Bruce Springsteen And The Legendary E Street Band Finalize Remaining 2009 Tour Dates." So, things are shaping up for Buffalo to be the final stop for 2009. That could change, of course, but we don't know of any credible rumors to the contrary.

I've booked through a UK travel agency for the two MSG shows (7th and 8th of Nov), but nothing seems to be confirmed yet.

Does anyone out there know of any concrete developments with the New York shows?

Yeah, I plead guilty to just judging that one on song selection alone. I also read good reviews of that show.....I got the next two covered in person. BROOOOCE.

Just got back home to the west coast after traveling back east for these two shows. I'm out of superlatives, out of energy....and out of money LOL. But man,not a single regret. Two of the greatest live shows I've seen in some time. Absolutely amazing. No more Bruce for me (I think). BUt if anyone else gets the chance go. I counted 12 different somgs from Hartford to night 1....Then 14 from night 1 to 2...I don't want to start anymore fights (rocks off reference) But Stones simply can't come close to doing anything like this these days. Keep rocking and thanks for the memories Brucesmileys with beer
