"Good News" was released around the same time as "Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 2."

Rather ironic title for Ronnie eh?

Eddie Vedder guest appearance?
That's ridiculous...I hope it's not true.

Ronnie mentioned the same amount of news (with the title) a while back already. And still nothing has materialized.

I'm more excited about a Ronnie album than about a Mick album, to be honest!
I think that's really good news, can't wait for it to be released smiling smiley

Me too. Listening to Mick solo, I always miss Keith and listening to Keith solo, I always
miss Mick. But when it comes to Ronnie, well he's the only one who can perform outside
the band and make it sound naturally.

I assume this is a sarcastic remark? Or else I have missed an album called Good News.

i didn't say mick, i said stones! we already got the mick album out the way anyway. now a keith album could get me excited...but ronnie really doesn't do it for me. i'll TRY to stay open-minded about it though!

It's nice to hear that he's working on a new album. Is that the covers project that was mentioned a year or so ago on his website or is this something else, something involving new songs? If it's the latter, I'd surely be interested in getting this album.

The seventies covers projects was for Wooden Records which is now largely a thing of the past as Ronnie's stepson ran it. This is a solo album of new material for Shangri-La Entertainment and seems more of a commercial effort along the lines of SLIDE ON THIS.

Yes, hope the 70ies cover project will still happen though!

I don't remember it being a 70's covers project. I remember it being a new solo album that would feature a 70's cover that was picked from fan suggestions.

I wonder who is running his business affairs now that the stepson is out of the picture?

As far as I remember, it was only about covers from the 70ies...

that's right - it was an ALL 70's covers project, much like Rod did recently. he solicited for ideas and if he liked and picked your idea, you'd get an album liner credit. i thought it was a good idea for him....all the good songs have been written, anyway....

I think it was an excellent idea too, still hoping something might come out of it...I suggested Knock On Wood from Eddie Floyd, not quite from the 70ies, but Ronnie would do an excellent job on it AND it would be a fitting title grinning smiley

i suggested Van's "Tupelo Honey" - can kind of imagine ronnie doing a ragged vsn of that....

Shangri- La is Steve Bing's production company and Mick's buddy that co produced Shine a Light and who has been helping RW out in LA.....
