I think "Sparks will Fly Sharks will Cry" is intended to be a fun lyric. It definitely stays in one's mind and fits the song well.

yeah, Stealing My Heart is a great track, but the lyrics are rather lame.

Mixed Emotions is about ambiguous love. "It's creasing your butt" means she is actually sitting on a fence with one half of her butt hanging over one side and other half on the other side. In other words she is unsure about the relationship while experiencing discomfort.

Thats the worst one ever. Hard to believe thats written by an acclaimed songwriter, let alone a man in his 60's. Most of 'Sweet Neocon' comes close though. Not because of the political slant, but the juvenile 'lets throw in a few gratuitous swearwords to show how angry we are' mentality. Oddly enough, theres a lot of very good, mature lyrics on ABB, but those two are stinkers.

'Sharks will cry' comes close though.

I don't think RJ is that bad. Most rock song look a little silly written out. It;s the ones that are supposed to be "deep" and carry a "message" that I hate.
The absolute worst is "Blinded by Love". The most ridiculous pile of rubbish ever.
And whoever called "Neocon" a wasted opportunity hit the nail on the head.
Jagger newer lyrics are often too rushed. Eg. "Terrifying" or RJ ' obviously he decided he was going to use the whole animal metaphor; but it is so clumsy. And the basic idea is not bad, but they should have stayed a very bad first draft.

the point is that these guys are just mailing it in. any one of us could easily come up with lyrics as bad as many of these without breaking a sweat. they are supposedly professional song-writers and it's just embarrassing that some of this crapola makes it past the "board of directors" and onto our stereos....

"Had it with you" can NEVER be bad, ROLLINGSTONE!

I got taught that I would have overseen it´s self-irony...

I like "Sex Drive," but I also like "Hot Stuff." Words aren't always important...and, as someone else mentioned, I can forgive silly, meaningless lyrics a lot easier than sophomoric "insightful" ones...
