Don't get me wrong, these are great sounding bootlegs, but not like an official release. To these ears, the low end is a little weak and muddy, but you get past that right quickly, the guitars and vocals sound great! Particularly the guitars, which is what it is all about! But, based on the Instant Live recordings I have heard, I think they will sound better so I will probably throw down the cash!

No offense to Moogi, these are great downloads, I haven't stopped listening to them since I found them Saturday. But, I'm a hopeless fan!

Grab them and let me know what you think!

interesting on the sound quality thing, Ross - on the ABB/Moogis site the sound is claimed to be BETTER than CD...hmmmm....

Well, the original stream may have sounded better than these recordings. More than likely somebody recorded the stream to their hard drive with less-than-ideal settings. Still, very listenable, quite enjoyable, but I will still purchase the Instant Live versions!

thanks, Ross. you or anyone else heard if there's an expectation that all the upcoming 2009 ABB shows will benefit from the Instant Live program? I'm hoping/assuming so....it was unfortunate that the last time they visited the west coast in 2004 the declined to offer up the one show I attended (the gorge with the Dead)...apparently the recording was done by the dead's sound crew and it wasn't up to snuff from the abb's standpoint, so they passed...just my luck....

Do they usually offer up all of the shows? I just kind of pot-luck pick a few from each tour based on the set list (not an easy thing to do!). I am glad to see these Beacon shows will be available, this is obviously an historic run!

Most recently I acquired the Instant Live versions of their Fox Theatre shows in Atlanta in 2004 that I attended. Nine cds of pure bliss! That sux that they didn't make your west coast show available, I would recommend Atlanta 2004 as an alternative!

thanks...i may look into that...first lemme see if they wind up offering my upcoming Oakland show...if not, then it's for sure there's a conspiracy and I will be forced to boycott the band altogether....

listening to 3/19 with EC now....HOLY MOSES! whoever said EC can't hang with these guys needs to listen again - it's more like Warren and Derek are working hard to keep up with the master....band sounds as fine as ever, too....

Hope you get a chnace to listen or view the 3/20 show. IMO, EC did his best playing on 3/20.

The first set on 3/19 though was smoking! When you end a 1st set with Whipping Post you know you've had an intense 1st set.

caught Derek Trucks show last night in SF - the world's greatest guitar player proves to be getting even better, if that's humanly possible. mind-numbing stuff. great acoustic opening set by Jackie Greene - and a surprise 30-minute guest appearance from the inimitable Carlos Santana with DTB....Carlos was in rare form, too (who was it that called him a one-trick pony??? not exactly...) - don't think i've ever seen him so animated, clearly propelled and inspired by Derek and his fabulous rhythm section.....
