Wow, it's amazing those awful dance club mixes are even allowed. Juiced and Undercover are the only realistic remixes. There was one out of the several Rock And A Hard Place remixes that was worthy only because it's actually the song and not some gay club beat combo thing. The Gimme Shelter and Sympathy and ASMB remixes are atrocities.

At least Dre's mix had some sort of thug element to it.

Those stupid 'remixes' by DJs are deplorable. They ruin the song. All those stupid fast beats. Horrible.

I can't recall but I thought I remember there being some list of what all has gotten remixed. Anyone have a list? Off the top of my head, actual remixes, not the stupid 'dance' mixes:

If they tour again...and plan to play MISS YOU...I'd prefer to
hear some sort of SOME GIRLS version/Dr. Dre version HYBRID.

So you want them to play a 12" version live! That would be great - have the WOO YEAH from Dre's mix - Bernard and Lisa could harmonise that - and make Charlie's kick drum sound like a tree falling.

Skipstone, I'm sure there's more but notably you're missing SHE WAS HOT. This was not officially released, but it did pick up radio airplay for a bit in early 1984. You can hear an off-air recording on UrbanSteel's thread on IORR's HOT STUFF page. It has the extra verse like in the music video, but it isn't speeded up and goes on far too long. If you have the STEEL WHEELS SESSIONS, then you pretty much have the Terrifying 12" extended mix as it is just a remix of the longer studio outtake.

Well, the Dr Dre mix of Miss You was a nice prelude for the Stones HBO special for the Licks NY event. Thanks for he Post. I always wondered where that version originated.

Yeah but the only actual true remix of Love Is Strong is the Bob Clearmountain mix. All the rest of those 'remixes' are nothing but total rubbish and don't count.

I´m sorry but I like a couple of those remixes very much. Winning ugly 12 is a really great mix!!!

Undxercover Of The Night (Extended) is good basically cause it keeps the song!

i'm really not into house and techno music at all. but this was interesting to hear because it proves that gimme shelter is such a masterpiece that it cant even get destroyed by all those (for my taste and ears) terrible beats and sounds!

p.s: dont take it personal, i think its really well done technicaly, just not my taste...

i'm not much for dance remixs but i would like for the stones to make some new mixes of their classic albums something like the doors did on their 40th anniversary album releases but each album being a 2 cd set. one with the original mix and the other a new mix from the studio tapes mick has claimed that the wrong mixes were used on exil and goats head soup is a muddy mix so why not make a new mix plus surround sound mixes would be cool too. i would say add some outtakes in for good measure but that'll never happen

I think we have to distinguish between the remixes made (or at least authorized) by the Rolling Stones themselves and the selfmade crap made by some djs.
The first are or were usually available on official maxi singles or CDs and contain at least now and then some additional music played by the Stones, e. g. some additional vocals of Mick, which are not in the original version. Some of these versions are really good. The latter ones however have mostly never been released anywhere other than in the web (ok, some were also on CD like ASMB + SOM mixes) and the guys who produced them could only use the original studio versions to mess them up. The result is usually only horrible...
