OT Alden Guitars?

Can someone enlighten me a bit on Alden guitars? Are they as good as they look? Are they real heavy? What's the sustain like? Does anyone own one here?

Cheap copies of expensive guitars. Many Zemaitis copies. They look the part, but are really Asian made student guitars. Comparable to Korea made Epiphone and Squier guitars.

Damn, that is what I was afraid of. I just happened to see some prices on them, and I was surprised how low they were. So they are as bad as Squiers...
Yeah The Zemaitis influence is obvious. That is why I wondered if they are heavy. But I wonder if that "metal" is really aluminum.
Epiphone I really can't say anything bad about. I think they are top guitars; not as good as Gibsons, but really excellent in their own right.
Thanks Mathijs

Squier guitars aren't bad. They're just not finished properly. I have a Squier Tele made in China that I changed the saddles on, fitted a bone nut and changed the pickups to Bareknuckle Piledrivers, had it set up properly and thing sounds and plays like a dream, equal to my 2 USA made Strats.

I gues I was lucky with a half decent one in the first place. The best Squier guitars are those that were made in Japan in the 80's/90's. They are very well made guitars equal to if not better in some instances than the Fender product.
