Could it be his age? I think he's about 71 now.
its' hummel's annual blues harmonica blowoff - seen that a few times over the years...he's coming up here to sf later in the month, sans mayall....salgado is the secret weapon in this year's lineup...former frontman with robert cray - he's a marvel and lucky to be alive...life-threatening illness almost got him a coupla years ago....

I saw Mayall in London in April '06. Was rather disappointed, hope he just had an off night.

Possibly.
Just seemed like a lackluster show.
I remember his guitarist trying to wow the 100 Club audience with a solo from a Zeppelin tune.
I thought that was a bit cheesey.
