Good bootlegs of 2005, 2006 and 2007?
Posted by: RollingStonesFan ()

I have several live-recordings of Bigger Bang but many of them aren't very good.

Simple question: which are your favorite bootlegs of 2005, 2006 and 2007?

2005: Giants Stadium New York
2006: Stuttgart audience
2007: Frankfurt audience

2005 : Houston
2006 : Glasgow
2007 : 02 first night

Soundwise O2 first night isn't good, if it's the same as mine. I've only heard a decent bootleg of the 3rd show.
Anyway:
Columbus 2005 is well worth getting. Does a good boot of Milano 2006 exist?
I think Horsens 06 is pretty good as well, but that's probably because I was there and because it was so hyped and they played so well. Soundwise it's not so good though.

Yes. It's not so easy anymore to find or get knowledge of the newest and BEST boots.

Many labels gave up and because of downloading there are many bad sources/ versions floating around.

Saitema was a great DVD show, - but my audio boots are dreadful!
I think you forgot Glasgow, Marko. To me a good gig and quality!
Btw. Is there a Glasgow version without the hiss?

I see houston 05 mentioned a lot here. I've got that as well, is it the best from 2005 out there? I mean quality wise, not rating the band's performance.

I've heard it and I honestly consider Saint Paul,Minnesota 2005 (mine is the Pig Nosed Records release) to be better.

Houston '05 seemed to sterile to me but,it does have a great Dead Flowers, better than the Steel Wheels tour Dead Flowers that I've heard.

Which good are you talking about? That the boot does or does not sound like a live album but instead sounds like it's coming through a cell phone or that the band sucked at all of those shows and therefor the boot is no good unless you're into hearing them perform shitty.

There are a few good ones out there...one of my personal favourites are Paris 2007 on the rattlesnake label...very good audience recording and a great version of can´t you hear me knocking!

Lyon 2007 aka "the resurection show" is over-rated imo. The playnig is more often sloppy than tight.

Nice (South of France), august 2006. According to all hardcore fans being there (including myself), it was their best performance they have ever seen

Not to this one.

Certainly a good enough show, but I didnt think it was anything special performance-wise.

I'd rank it as good a version of 'Dead Flowers' as I've ever heard actually. Up there with 'Learning the Game' from Austin as my favourite ABB tour performance.

I like Moncton 2005

1/Very listenable
2/Pre-accident Keith
3/Mick in strong early tour voice
4/Good setlist(Rambler on the b-stage!)and performance
5/Very into it and excited crowd

1) Glasgow 06 - Either the DAC release or my own recording off satellite
2) Saitama 06 - DVD rip
3) Houston 05
4) Oakland 06 - DAC release

All of the O2 shows are very good performances, just not that great recordings.

glasgow (not complete) is prolly the one boot that struck me as above average both performance and soundwise...has an unusually "crunchy" mix which takes me back to better days....
