Great version of a great song. Too bad Mick was into those Ovation s...t guitars!

Its absolutely brilliant on that show, and throughout that tour. This was also the first tour they'd ever performed it.
Played way too rarely ever since.

...with the possible exception of Phoenix, AZ. It's a 7 minute train wreck. Mick goes to the bridge, the band goes to the chorus. Mick goes to the chorus, the band goes to the bridge. On top of that, it sounds like one of the guitars is out of tune. It actually becomes comical. A great show, though.

Bobby adds a nice touch on this version.

Wasn't it Ernie Watts who played sax on the 1981 Tour with Bobby joining for the European leg in 1982?

I like Watts playing, he has a jazz sound. but for this song Keyes' Barrel-House playing is perfect.

One of the top three songs of probably the best ever gig by the post-72 Stones. Hampton is just absolutely fabulous, and Shattered, Imagination, Beast of Burden, Waiting on a Friend and let it Bleed are absolute best versions ever.
This was when they still ruled the world as greatest band in the world, instead of biggest & most grossing Las Vegas act....
And whomever thinks Darryl does a fine job clearly listens with his ass!
