Although I don´t think that´s what you are trying to imply, I agree that the only parts worth watching are the interview snippets.

God, what a dissappointing movie...

I was just watching this last night and have a question. In the DVD, why is the F word muted from the part where Mick says "Buddy mother f'ing Guy" but not muted in other parts such as when he introduces Lisa? It doesn't make sense to me at all.

Thanks Amused. So, they re-rated it for the DVD? I distinctly remember it not being muted when I saw the film in the theater.

They were limited to a certain amount of 'fúcks' in order to get a PG rating.

Wow, that was harsh.

Care to elaborate?

I loved it from the start. Watched it twice in the theater, and bought the blu-ray.

I love the way the sound is mixed during those scenes where the camera swoops through the stage. Drums grow stronger as you approach Charlie, the guitar is cutting through everything without mercy as the camera tries to chase Keith. Very playful and beautifully done.

There is also a good dosage of humour in this thing. At one point a member of the audience lifts up her point and shoot camera, and you can clearly hear the fake shutter-sound as she presses the button. Which helps to take the edge off things -- this thing is for the audience after all.

The interviews also serves as nice highlights, and helps explain what makes this group tick and how the society at the time reacted to these strange guys producing so many wonderful tunes.

The recent concert DVDs have been very clinical and straight forward IMO. SAL takes a different approach. It is small theater versus big arenas.

But hey... Different people, different poison. Can't please them all.

Is it me, or are the guitars coming from the opposite speakers when the camera is filming from Charlies position? I mean, it seems like Keith is in the left speaker for a brief moment and Ronnie in the right one and when the camera angle is changed back to normal, the speakers are swopped again.

SAL is the best thing the Stones have done in the 21st century. It's brilliant, irreverant and original. Sad to say some people take this sort of thing way too seriously.

I'd rather go for Pukka Pies than SAL, especially the sausage roll lines.

The highlight for me is "Some Girls", I wish they did a 15 minute version...

The rest of SAL is not very exciting at all

I watched it again last night and it does kinda grow on me a bit, still would have been SO much better if Keith would've actually played on Connection and You Got The Silver though.

Yeah, this thread was started as "Highlights from SAL" And for those of you who don't like it, just don't post on a thread like this! Start your own, which was done ad nauseum!

Highlights for me, Some Girls...great hard hitting version and Jagger really shines on guitar and vocals here. ALso, love Shattered, so New York done at the Beacon, great! And great guitars on that one as well.

Love the front row bimbos and the Clinton balcony bimbos. So realistic!

Christina sure did a better job with LWM than S. Crow did in the 94 Miami PPV!

It is always the same, when asked about the highlights of any Stones performance/album etc.
Everybody has his/her own highlight. I think that is what makes the band as unique as they are.
Whatever they do, there is somebody around who thinks it is a highlight.

To me, it is She was hot. What a blistering hot performance that song is. And nice shots
of Lisa to illustrate the subject of the song too.

Shattered

I loved the SG songs. But no matter how many times I watch or listen to Shattered, for some reason they still don't play the middle 8 part even remotely close to how it could go!

Best hightlights? Anything without that little tunt Marty in it. What a mighty doosh he is!
