Facts and figures
A total of 519,000 fans saw The Rolling Stones at their short 3 weeks European Tour this summer. The tour made a gross income of US $25 million. The biggest crowd was the one in Groningen, Netherlands, collecting 75,000 fans, while the smallest outdoor crowd was the one in Spain, at Santiago de Compostela, with 29,000 fans at the amphi. Not counting the 1,832 capacity indoor club show at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London, UK, of course.
In just under two years of touring, the Rolling Stones have brought in a staggering $337 million, selling out all but 20 of 147 shows, mostly in stadiums. That means an average nightly take of $2.3 million. Worldwide, 5.6 million people have seen the Rolling Stones live since fall 1997.
Toronto-based The Next Adventure (TNA) promoted all of the shows. "It was an unbelievably long tour, and even more successful," says TNA chairman Michael Cohl.

The total number of performances may vary. The official Rolling Stones set lists numbered the final Europe 98 show in Istanbul as no. 107, i.e. they did not count the VH1 show at the MSG theatre in NY on Oct. 24, 97. This was just two songs for TV broadcasting. Total shows should be 152...
