Underground releases
Reviews by Hendrik Mulder, Holland

The Rolling Stones over Germany (VGP 213): One of the latest shows from the Bridges to Babylon tour is released on Vinyl Gang. This is the entire show from Mannheim, Germany september 12, 1998. This is an excellent audiene recording with the rarely played let it bleed. 2 bonustracks from Vienna; Under my thumb and The last time.

Kiss of life (Dandelion 089/090) One of the first bootlegs from the No Security tour. Kiss of life is recorded in Sacramento, CA on january 27 which was the 2nd show from the tour. Contains the `usual' songs Some girls, You got the silver and Route 66 and some songs which were played rarely during the No Security tour like Undercover of the night, Memory motel and Sweet Virginia. Bonustracks are Memory motel, Tumbling dice and Route 66 which are from the soundcheck on the same day. The 2 San Jose shows after this show were postponed because of Mick's voice problems.

First night stand 1999 - Moonlight mile (VGP 215) The first show from the No Security tour recorded in Oakland, CA on january 25. Some songs for the first time ever like Moonlight mile, Some girls and You got the silver. Great versions of Live with me, Respectable, Shine a light and I just wanna make love to you. This is the only show were Honky tonk women is played on the small stage. This show is also available on Stones Age - Opening Night Oakland 99 (RR 026/27)

Casino Boogie! (Crazy mama 010) A new label hit the collectors market: Crazy mama. Their first regular cd release is Casino boogie which is limited to 300 numbered copies and contains the Las Vegas show from november 22, 1997. This show was already available on Viva Las Vegas (VGP) and High rollers Contra Band). Why another release? The answer is simple: Casino boogie blows away all former Las Vegas releases and we finally have a great show in great quality including Sister morphine, 19th nervous breakdown and You can't always get what you want.

Babylonian knights (Dandelion 089/090) This show is recorded at the Waldbuhne in Berlin, Germany on september 10, 1998 and is one of the smallest concerts of the Bridges to Babylon tour. Includes Memory motel, Respectable and Let it bleed (only two times played in Europe). Interesting bonustracks: Just my imagination is from the soundcheck in Amsterdam on july 6, Out of control (New York, january 16) is the Don Was live remix only available on a rare US Out of control promo and I just wanna make love to you (Amsterdam july 1) is taken from the Japanese edition of No security.

Hillside blues (VGP 214) Vinyl gang released this 2cd with outtakes from the 1968-1972 period. In fact it got the same tracks as Trident mixes (CD 689) and Exile Stones (RS 7191) only now in best possible quality!

Can you hear the mobile (VGP 016) Vinyl gang uses the same ordernumber (VGP 016) as they did for one of their first releases: `Can you hear the music' which contained Rotterdam 1973 rehearsals. Can you hear the mobile is a 2cd set and got even more of these rehearsals in the same, fair quality. Nevertheless it's an interesting release because of some very rare songs which they never did during their 1973 European tour like Rocks off, Can you hear the music etc.
