1966

Aftermath was released in UK on April 15, 1966 (June in America). The original title "Could You Walk On The Water" had been refused by Decca...

Paint it Black was released in UK on May 13, 1966, and the month before (April) in USA. The title was mis-spelled with a comma.

The Fifth North American Tour starting at Lynn, MA on June 24, ending in Honolulu on July 28. Before that, the Stones had toured Australia, New Zealand (Feb/March) and Europe (March/April).

1976

Black & Blue was released on April 20, 1976, inspired by reggae, funk and soul. Great tracks like Hot Stuff, Memory Motel and Fool To Cry (top 10).

The 1976 European Tour started in Frankfurt Festhalle April 28, including 6 nights in May at earls Court, London, ending in Stadthalle Vienna, on June 23. More than one million people had applied for tickets by post to the Earls Court concerts.

1986

100 Club London was the venue for a surprise gig on Feb. 23, 1986, in memory of Ian Stewart, the 6th Stone.

Dirty Work was released on March 24, 1986, and no tour was due! Keith was unhappy with Mick's plans for a solo tour & album. The album was dedicated to Stu, having died on Dec. 12, '85, at age 47. Following "Sleep Tonight", the sweet closing track by Keith, was 30 seconds of Stu playing boogie woogie piano. May be one of the least popular Stones albums.

Harlem Shuffle was released in March 1986, and later followed by One Hit (to the Body), both taken from Dirty Work.

Hard Woman b/w Lonely At The Top was released by Mick.

Mick Jagger went onstage with David Bowie on June 20, 1986 to sing Dancing In The Streets, at the Wembley Arena, Prince's Trust Concert.

1986 would be the year of various solo activities, and it was in the long dormant period including the years from 1983 up to 1988, with no Stones tours, just solo projects.
